2002 Poker Run
September 7, 2002, Lake Cumberland

Lexington entrepreneurs Billy Bussell and Roger Schnabel (pictured at right) and their team from the Mid-American Boating Association (MABA) were smiling ear-to-ear as 175 boats and their crews registered for the 2002 Poker Run at Lake Cumberland. The five leg boat run is an all-day event with breakfast, a lunch buffet and an evening barbeque provided for hungry crews. Each participant upon finishing a leg of the event receives a poker card sealed in an envelope. When all five envelopes are opened by MABA at the conclusion of the five legs of the race, the boaters with the best poker hands win cash prizes.

Poker Run has become one of the largest revenue days at Jamestown Marina. This year, enthusiasts, dealers and manufacturers from 18 states navigated Lake Cumberland in a broad range of exotic power boats.
